Participates in European Thematic NetworkThe AlMMC Consortium contribute to a recent proposal submitted by the University of Vienna to the European Commission on behalf of the European Thematic Network. This effort follows a visit by Dr. Jack Simon, past Director, ALMMC Consortium, who attended the 12 Months Meeting of the European Thematic Network in Hamburg, Germany, October 3-5, 1999. Opportunity for continued collaboration between the European and American Metal Matrix Composites Consortiums are being discussed.

Consortium Develops Aluminum MMC RoadmapBuilding on the excellent Technology Roadmap for the Aluminum Industry facilitated by the Department of Energy-Office of Industrial Technology, the Consortium is finalizing a roadmap for the Aluminum MMC Industry.
