Spartan Auxiliary Mounting Plate
Spartan 201 is a Solar Physics Spacecraft designed to perform remote sensing of the
hot (> 106 K) outer layers of the sun's atmosphere or corona.
SPAM is a cooperative NASA Spartan/NRL effort to develop SiC-Al alloys for
spaceflight use.
It is a simple honeycomb carrier plate that can carry equipment on both Spartan and
HH support structures.
It flew successfully on the 20-Nov 1997 Shuttle mission
Current Status (02/07/98): Spartan 201 is back at NASA GSFC
It is scheduled to launch on STS-95 as SP201-05 on October 29th 1998
